WHRRI Flag School

For those intrepid souls who love the thrill of getting safely up close and personal with a racecar, we offer Flag School. Learn all about Flagging and Communications basics during our classroom training session on April 28, and then move on out to a corner to put your newly learned skills into practice. The afternoon is spent working a turn station with experienced workers, who will provide on the job instruction. In addition, we have paddock walks planned for both days, to help acquaint you with the nuances of individual racecars (things like "Where is the tow hook?"). F&C is very rewarding and exciting, and you get to meet some really terrific people. For further information, visit and sign up today! http://members.home.net/tdmartens/flag3.htm

VSCDA Events 2001

A great opportunity to enjoy cars that were new when your parents enjoyed watching car races. These people treat workers extremely well and will even help with rooms if needed. Their cars tend to be less exotic, but they do surprise you at times. They are now the sanctioning body of the Road America vintage event in July.

Check the attached calendar and note the VSCDA events in your neighborhood.

May 5 – 6 Vintage School at GingerMan

July 6 – 8 Vintage Races at GingerMan

August 17 – 19 Vintage Races at Grattan

Detroit Regional & Enduro Races 09/15 - 16/01

There was a change in plans made during the
Detroit board meeting this past Tuesday. The Enduro will NOT have a run on Friday evening, there will be NO racing in the dark and the actual length is still being determined. Please bear with us on this, since the board wanted more details than we were given.
There was a decision made to go forward with the event and a contract has been signed with GingerMan, but it's not quite as first presented. We will have an Enduro and we will have a Regional race, but just on two days.

WHRRI Timing & Scoring School

Do you have family or friends that like coming to the races, but get bored sitting around the paddock? Perhaps your significant other would like to be a part of your hobby, but doesn't want to work a corner or be exposed to the elements. Maybe your son or daughter wants something else to do. How about the air conditioned comfort of Timing and Scoring?! This year we are offering full training in Timing and Scoring during Drivers School, which is a perfect time to learn! We'll teach you everything you need to know and then some. If you're interested in attending, please send an email message to Erik Wollesen ecwollesen@cs.com
